A woo girl hiatus

Wednesday Jan 29, 2025

Wednesday Jan 29, 2025

This week’s question:   Hey lovelies, I have a beautiful son who is 11 years old and is an absolute honey with a gentle and kind soul, but I'd love your help with this. If he thinks he has disappointed me, he really retreats and completely shuts down. This could be for something as simple as losing his things, but if he sees me losing my cool, he takes it to heart and it's super difficult to get him to open up about what is going on. Any insights on how best to communicate with him when he retreats would be amazing. Thanks so much!

Discover:
Children often don't know how to handle feelings of disappointment, so it’s important for partents to role model it for them.
Mads shares her personal growth journey about managing conflict and understanding different emotional expressions.
Insights into the dynamic of a emotional projector parent and their spleenic manifestor child, including points of strength and weakness.
Why it’s important to allow space for manifestor children to express themselves by encouraging them to voice their feelings and ideas without imposing restrictive biases.
Most of all, we want to recognise and accommodate the individuality of each child so we can build a harmonious family unit.

Wednesday Dec 18, 2024

This week’s episode of the I’ll Ask My Sister Podcast is a bit different that usual. Ellen and Mads are clearing out their mailbag and answering four questions in one episode.

This week’s questions:.
How do you find your tribe at work?
What do you write on your resume when you've taken some time off from working?

Do you believe in dream jobs?

Tips for fostering genuine connections in your workplace, and for managing the group dynamics.
Why you should, and how to, look deeper than just proximity or convenience when choosing who to connect with.

Wednesday Dec 11, 2024

This week’s question: If we know our kids' human design from a young age and teach them about it, do we alter our children's experience for the better? Or do we take away possible hardship that could help them learn? Essentially, how much do I base my parenting on her human design and how it could impact her? I know there is no right answer here. Just questions I contemplate and I'm curious about your perspectives.

Discover:
Human design isn't about altering destiny but equipping ourselves (and our children) to handle it better.
Understanding your child’s type may influence how you approach their education, emotional regulation, and socialisation.
It’s crucial to strike a balance between offering guidance based on human design and allowing children to learn from natural life challenges.
It’s also important to recognise that learning doesn’t always require hardship. Positive experiences can be equally impactful.
As well as practical ways for parents to support each of the different Human Design energy types:
Generators and Manifesting Generators: Encouraging activities that align with their interests and allow them to experiment and explore.
Manifestors: Teaching them the importance of seeking permission can enable them to execute their visions without resistance.
Projectors: Emphasising the necessity for rest and providing them with focused one-on-one interactions.
Reflectors: Allowing them to express their preference for environments and respecting those choices.

This week’s question comes from a one-four emotional generator from Canada. You can discover your human design here: https://www.askmysisterpod.com/cosmicgifts

Red flags but make it corporate

Wednesday Dec 04, 2024

Wednesday Dec 04, 2024

This week’s question:  I returned to work full time after my first child when she was eight months and moved into a new role in a 10 month contract. My boss has extremely high expectations for herself and I find myself taking this on. we are planning for trying for a second child, but I'm also needing to think about applying for other permanent ongoing roles with maternity leave  in the quest for balance of work and family life. When is it appropriate to share this planning with your employer and how do you approach this?

Discover:
When you should share personal plans, like family planning, with employers, and wen you shouldn’t.
High expectations in the workplace can lead to stress, which will impact your physical and mental health. So take time to rest and de-stress.
Work relationships can mirror familial dynamics. Identify and address these patterns to improve professional interactions.
How your human design can provide insights into managing energy. The listener, a projector, is prone to absorbing other people’s stress. So she needs to factor that in to big decisions.
Not only is prioritising your peace and health over work obligations okay, it’s crucial when navigating big changes in life.
Why you should seek roles that align more closely with your personal needs and values, especially during times of life transition.
Questions you can ask during job interviews to understand a potential leaders management style, so you can ensure it aligns with you.

Wednesday Nov 27, 2024

In this week’s episode of the I’ll Ask My Sister podcast, Mads and Ellen are joined by an incredible tarot reader (and good friend), the wonderful Tamara Driessen! On top of her spiritual skills, Tamara is a writer, who just published a piece in Elle about 2025, and runs her own podcast “Another Phase”.

This week’s question:  I'm struggling to get clear on what I want from my side business, and it's paralyzing me from making clear next moves or taking it to the next level until I answer the ultimate question. Deciphering whether my feelings are fear slash conditioning slash not being able to see my way of doing it, or if I don't actually want it at my very core being,  sometimes I can see and feel it so clearly how big and beautiful it could become, but alongside it is total fear of what that might bring with it. Can I be the mother I want to be or the partner or the friend and hold space for all the parts I want to show up fully as. Transcribed recently, I have really felt that I can't have it all and I have to choose.  But this burning decision feels like it's splitting parts of myself. What is your take?

Discover:
How to challenge the societal norms about work which demand hustle, so you can start living a more authentic and aligned life.
Tamara draws the two of cups from her tarot deck, which suggests the listener needs to focus on nurturing herself and finding a balance between personal and professional relationships.
Often, the simplest approach is the right one, so don't over-complicate things.
The exercise of visualising what your ideal day looks like makes your goals clearer which in turn helps you feel more confident making decisions to get there.
Why it’s important to regularly reflect on yourself. Introspection makes sure you stay aligned with your goals and keeps you from going off the path you’ve mapped.

This week’s question comes from a four-six manifestor from Sussex. She’s an art director and a small business owner. You can discover your human design here: https://www.askmysisterpod.com/cosmicgifts
